In To The Last Week

Hi all,
I have been in Canada for a week now visiting with family and meeting up with some of the guys from the Toronto MG club,
On sunday we went to Mosport Raceway for their 50th anniversary meeting at which the MG was the featured mark,
I was asked to take my car down into the MG paddock so the racers could have a good look over the TF, when I got into the paddock area the guy who was organising the meet said that they would like me and the TF to act as guest pace car for the MG race, what an honour that was to lead a field of classic MG's around this track.
I am now in the last week of my tour (its all gone to fast) I will be going over to Belleville Ontario on wednesday the 23rd for the North American MG B Register's national meeting that goes on to the 27th this will be the last event on the tour before I drive back into the USA and down to the docks in Baltimore to ship the car back home, its been a great trip so far apart from the guy that backed into the car and damaged the front bumper but hay these things happen.
So that's about it for now I will do a report on MG2010 after the event and I will see you all soon.

ps/ Video's from the trip are now up on the link,
and some more photo's, enjoy.

Now in Canada.

I am in Canada now, but before I crossed over the border I had a great time with the guys at the Ohio club and then with the Windsor-Detroit club the following night with a trip to the Henry Ford Museum on thursday and then a BBQ & pool party at Steve's and Donna's house before I left for Canada friday to meet up with Mark and go to a show in London Ontario.
Now I'm in Niagara for a couple of days before I go to Toronto to visit family for week or so then to the NAMGBR national event at Belleville.

Half Way.

Well I have got to the half way point (3 and a 1/2 weeks) of my trip around the eastern side of the USA, this past weekend I went to two shows the first was the Meeting of the Marques show in Hershey, PA, there was a good selection of British and other makes on show and they raised just over $2200 for the Children's Hospital, I was give the chance to go out in a Sunbeam Tiger V8 great fun to ride in some thing so divergent from the TF and the owner has had the car from new.
On the sunday morning it was a quick drive of around 110 mile to go to the Red Mill event in Clinton, NJ, and to meet up with some of the guys that I met on the first weekend of my trip on the Cecil Kimber Run as it was organized by the same MG group, this is an all British Car show and I saw some old favourites that I have not seen for a long time and they were all in tip top condition, you can see from the photos that it was a great setting for a car show held in the grounds of an old mill on the edge of town.
Now its off to Ohio to meet up with some more MG'ers on Tuesday who have asked me to drop bye so they can see the TF and then go out for dinner, then its around into Michigan to go to the Windsor-Detroit club night on wednesday before crossing over into Canada for the last part of the trip.
Travel report for those who like numbers,
Driving time, 102 hours,
Milage, 4480 miles, and counting.
I'll do the fuel used and cost at the end of the trip.

Delayed by a Day

Hi here we are again, made my way to New York but did not stay in the Big Apple spent the night just north in Newburgh then on tuesday drove through Connecticut and in to Massachusetts and a little town called Northampton.
I was then going to go up into Vermont on thursday but I was held up by having to do some running repairs as the guy in the next room to me backed into the TF dislodging the bumper and knocking off big bits of paint, But I found a local body shop that did a great job putting the bumper back to near ware it should be and I then went to a auto parts store and got a rattle can and some masking tape and hay presto, well it looks a bit more presentable no big bits of Blue showing though the Silver making it look like it had the lurgy.
Got to Hemmings in Bennington on friday as planed ready for the show on saturday, and WOW what a welcome before I had a chance to get out of the car half a dozen guys came out of the office and swarmed around the car asking questions and taking photos from every angle.
Found a British Fish & Chip shop for supper Yummy,
more entry's to follow as I get a minuet or two.
ps/ Look in photos sets.

Heres # 3

Hi all, been a busy couple of days, got to Winston-Salem on Thursday and met up with the guys from the North Carolina MG clubs at Hooters for some food, then on Friday picked up PJ from the local club and drove over to Durham to go to Flying Circus British car workshop, big selection of British cars being worked on great visit, and then on the way back to Winston we stopped at Hendricks Wire Wheels and had a bit of a shock when I walked into the shop he had
about seven AH 3000's being worked on.
Saturday PJ drove his B GT 3.4 V6 to meet me at my hotel and we then drove over to Blowing Rock to visit Jack Austin, after he had a good look around the TF we all drove on to the Blue Ridge Parkway and drove about 65 mile north to get some real Southern Fried Chicken, Yum Yum.
After lunch they went back south and I traveled north on the Blue Ridge to Roanoke for the night and I will be back on the Ridge tomorrow going to the top and then onto the Skyline Parkway on my way to the Big Apple for a couple of days.
The trip is living up to expectations and more so far, Great scenery, Great people, Great roads.

Just reporting in, spent a couple of hours with Ed and Pete at Motorcar Garage on monday great pair of guys rearly enjoyed the visit, did a bit of driving today tuesday (around 360 mile), left Philly around 9am and headed down into Delaware on I13 all the way down and over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel WOW what a drive that was, carried on to Richmond and I have now stopped for the night in Chester VA, so I can spend all day tomorrow sight seeing with just a bit of local running around.
Drove to Yorktown today (wednesday) and went to the visitors centre to have a look around, this is the place where some years ago a guy named Washington with the help of the French gave us British a bit of a beating, very interesting great place to visit if your ever in the area.
